Portrait Party
What exactly is a portrait party? It’s an opportunity to earn credits towards professional portraits for you and your family. It is also a no sales pressure chance to have a your family portraits taken in a fun and relaxed environment!
It’s similar to other home parties. The person hosting the party invites friends and family to come over to their house to have their pictures taken. Each family or group gets an appointment time of half an hour for a “mini session”. In exchange for the work and responsibility of hosting, the host receives some extra benefits.
The Mini Session has a fee of $15 and includes a coupon for one 5×7 portrait. Regular pricing applies to additional orders. As an added bonus, there is no restriction on add ons. If you would like to upgrade to a Basic or Premium Package, you are able to do so, and the Mini Session Fee is used towards the package price.
Host benefits include: a free 5×7 for each family photographed, a complimentary, seperate 60 minute session for the host’s immediate family which will allow for different setups and/or backgrounds. Also, for combined orders up to $500 (not including the Mini Session Fees), the host receives a 10% credit towards their order. For combined orders over $500 (not including the Mini Session Fees), the host receives a 20% credit towards their order. For every party booked from your party, you will also receive an additional $20 print credit towards your purchases.
How does it all work? Here is a general guideline of the hosts responsibities and what to expect from me.
~ The host and I schedule the date of the party and decide upon the background and props (if any).
~ The host sends out invitations and schedules appointments in 30 minute blocks of time. There must be a minimum of 5 appointments scheduled to confirm the party. Parties scheduled for fewer than 5 appointments will be approved or disapproved at my discretion.
~ Mini Session fees are due the day of the party, and is the responsibility of the host to collect and deliver to the photographer.
~ Previews are available online in 3-5 days and expire after being posted for 1 week.
~ Orders are processed in the order they were received. If an order needs to be rushed, a 50% Rush Fee will be added to the amount due.
~ Specialty items such as custom cards will be ordered directly through me instead of on the preview site due to the special handling they require.
I’ve had a lot of great feedback about portrait parties and have been told it’s a fun way to get together with friends and to have that all important family photo. Towards Christmas, scheduling gets extremely tight, so try to plan ahead. In order to avoid getting in trouble with Mr. Murphy (of the infamous Murphy’s Law) try to schedule your portrait party no later than November 7th. Parties scheduled after Thanksgiving will have not qualify for Christmas delivery.
