Crazy weather

I blame my current cold on this insane weather. It just can’t be good for the body to have to keep adjusting to the extreme swings in temps like we have. One week we’re wearing coats and heavy clothes. The next we’re wearing short sleeve shirts (and the brave – or crazy – among us have been wearing shorts) and running around without our coats enjoying the warm sunshine. A few days later, we’re huddling under umbrellas and wondering why we put our coats away already. Then guess what? We’ve got more snow on the ground and they’re saying we’ll have temps in the 40′s by the end of the week again. Ugh. Let me off this rollercoaster!

My mom had surgery on her ankle. Again. This time they went in, removed a bone spur, and then lengthened the tendon. She gets to spend the next 8 weeks putting absolutely no weight on that foot. She has this nifty scooter thing that she kneels on with the bad leg, and then kind of hops with the other one. Better than crutches, she said. But, she’s dealing with a lot of pain from the surgery. She said on a scale of 1-10, it’s a 12. :-(  I hope it eases up for her soon.
I don’t have anything new to show at this time. I’m working on some orders I’ve received and then I’m going to put some thought into redoing my site a bit. We’ll see how ambitious I get with it.
Have fun and stay warm!

April, all ready?

This year is flying by, isn’t it?

March was certainly a crazy month. Besides the normal crazyness that is my life, the weather and flooding added their own twist. I went and helped sandbag last Tuesday, and am still suffering for it. I guess I have to realize that I’m not young and in shape anymore. This lazy, out of shape body can’t handle hauling heavy sandbags around for 6 hours and not expect to pay for it. Doesn’t help that I slipped in some mud and landed hard on my right knee and elbow. Those are still giving me fits. Ugh.
I had a few sessions in march and a few weekends ago, I was able to take some maternity pictures. My first chance at maternity, and we both had a great time playing around. I think she makes a cute pregnant mommie!

I can’t wait until she gets to welcome her new baby girl into the world, as I’m hoping to take some more fun pics then!

Will this winter never end?

This seems to be going down as one of the worst winters I’ve been through in awhile. Several rounds of stomach flu have gone through our house (the worst round back at the beginning of this month which got everyone but the hubby), and then Brandon came down with something last week and ended up with viral pneumonia. About the only reason he didn’t get thrown in the hospital is because we own a home nebulisor unit and were able to give him the breathing treatments (every four hours, night and day) that the hospital would have done. I also am getting over a cold, which was probably the same bug that he had, as I was also coughing and congested for several days.

Despite all that, I have been busy with photographs. I just haven’t gotten many up lately! I returned to Val’s house last week to take pictures of her 2 year old twins and her 4 year daughter. Those kids are so much fun. The 2 year old boy wasn’t having anything to do with pictures, but once I broke out the bubbles, we got a couple of good shots. But that was the end of it for him! LOL
I also had the opportunity to photograph some engagement shots for one of my summer weddings. Those two are such a fun couple. They had me laughing nearly the entire time I was there! I can’t wait until June so we can all have fun at their wedding!
I also returned to Jen’s house to reshoot her two youngest children this week. This shoot went a lot better and we got some great shots. And we were all exhausted by the time we were done because those two were everywhere!
I’ll be posting some pictures of these shoots over the week. Don’t want to over load all at once! But for now, I’m off to bed. I managed to pull a muscle in my back and need to see if I can get it to relax because I’m tired of being in pain. Advil has been my friend the last few days!
