Out of town

Starting this weekend, I’m going to be out of town until about Wed, April 25th. I have a friend who is in need of some personal help, so am going to go help her out for a bit.

I’ll be in the studio this afternoon from about 12:30 – 3pm. I will be back Thursday, April 26th. I’ll still be answering emails, so if anyone needs to get in touch with me, that’s the best option.

I hope everyone has a great weekend coming up!

Small Business Saturday

The Saturday after Thanksgiving is starting become known as “Small Business Saturday.” It’s a nationwide drive to encourage shoppers to support their local businesses. In honor of this, I’m offering a sale on session fees just in time for the holidays!

For only $20, you will receive a certificate good for a $45 credit towards your session fee. So there is no additional cost for the regular sessions, and you have the ability to use it towards the specialty sessions if you desire!

The sale will last through Monday, November 28th until 11:59pm CST, but the certificates do not expire!

To take advantage of this sale, go to this page. http://joyfulheartphoto.com/photocart/index.php?do=photocart&viewGallery=10033 You will need to register to the site (if you haven’t already) in order to make your purchase. Once you do, I will email you a receipt and a copy of the certificate.

Of course, there is some small print. LOL There is a limit of 2 pre-purchased sessions per family, the offer cannot be combined with any other sale or special, and the certificate must be surrendered at the time of the session. It may not be used for sessions that have already been completed. Pricing is subject to change, so the final price of the session fee may vary from today’s price.

I’m looking forward to the holidays and hope you are too!

Sad

I. Hate. Cancer.

I know that no one actually likes cancer, but right now I really hate it. As I’m writing this, a good friend of mine is literally watching her mother-in-law die. I had a text this morning telling me that the end is close. The last few weeks have been extremely difficult for their family. Watching a strong, healthy woman diminish to a fraction of herself….. Having to deal with the constant pain that even hourly doses of morphine isn’t helping….. I pray that her passing is a peaceful one and that the family can begin healing their hearts.

I have also lost family members to cancer. My father-in-law to stomach cancer. My grandma on my mom’s side to cancer that started in her jaw – and she had quit smoking before I was even born. Seeing how the cancer ate away at their bodies and their spirit, before taking their lives is one of the worst things I hope to never see again. I don’t know anyone who hasn’t lost someone close to them from cancer.

This week is also one of fighting back. I was asked to offer a donation for a silent auction for a gentleman who was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. I am also sponsoring the photo booth at an event to raise money to help the fight against cancer.

Shirley’s Bradway Show is in it’s third year and looks to be a big success. Every dime that the photo booth brings in at this event is going back to the benefit for cancer research.

Cancer is a truly awful disease. I hope and pray that a cure will be found soon.
