Auddie!
I’m finally getting around to uploading some pictures from Auddie’s session last week. She’s a junior in high school and a lot of fun to work with. She has the most beautiful eyes and hair, don’t you think?
I got to play with my Roman background again and we had some fun trying out a few things I haven’t had a chance to do yet. This was also one of the first sessions in my new studio!
Speaking of the new studio, after doing some test runs in it, I’ve decided that it will be too small for most family portraits. I can do small families (probably 3 or 4 people) and cannot guarantee full body length photos. For larger families, I still have options, though! I do have permission to use the front of the salon I’m located in on days when she doesn’t have any appointments. Those slots will be filled quickly once the holidays come, so if you want to do that, let me know ASAP. I will of course still travel to your home (or other location) for family photos, and that is always an option!
Last note for the day… I know that no one wants to hear this, but there are only 4 months left until Christmas! Yes, we are starting to get Christmas stuff in at my day job. And yes, it is rather disgusting! LOL I’ve always recommended getting family photos taken care of in August and September for several reasons. The biggest ones being that we still have our summer tans (if we can call this a summer this year!!!) and it’s much easier to get it done early before the rush hits!
Sometime this week I’m going to be announcing my holiday special. I think it will be a good one based on feedback I’ve received over the last few years!

Whew! Busy!
Is there any other word for it? The day job has been nutso, due to inventory and covering a department that recently lost its supervisor. Luckily, I’m pretty familiar with it, so it was easy enough to figure out what needed to be done. The hard part was getting it done within the allotted 8 hours a day! But now that inventory is all over with, I’ve been getting busy with photography again! This Friday has me in Grand Forks for a wedding for Kayla and Travis. Saturday morning is another photo session for Kari. I also have a maternity and family session coming up soon as well as a session for triplets! They’ll be about 3 months old, and I’m super-excited about it! The maternity session is going to be a blast, I just know it. Amber is such a CUTE pregnant woman. Still skinny and beautiful with a darling basketball sized baby bump.
She and her honey also have another girl who has the cutest blond curls. I get goosebumps thinking about some of the fun stuff we’re going to do. Yeah, I’m excited about everything I’ve got going, but isn’t that the way it’s supposed to be?
Even better is the vacation I’m taking the end of the month. We’re driving out to Idaho again to see my family out there. Yep, driving straight through. I never denied being crazy.
We’ll be out there until the 3rd of August, and I hit the ground running again with several sessions set up and a few that will be set up later in the month. WHEW!
Gotta say I love it, though.
