Almost vacation time!

I can’t wait!

Since I’m not taking any more appointments this month (I’ll be just “slightly” out of town) if you contact me by email before July 31st, I’ll honor July’s specials with your August photo session. I will check my email from time to time, but may not be able to reply right away. So just don’t give up on me!

And even better news…. Grandma is looking to be discharged from the hospital on Friday. Yippee! She’s doing really well, getting stronger every day. She even did eight stair steps today. Every day she takes a longer walk. Go Grandma! I’m so glad she’ll be able to be out of the hospital. She’ll be a lot more comfortable at my Mom’s house. They’re thinking they’ll do more surgery in 3 weeks in order to give her time to get stronger and for the original surgery to heal up more. Thanks again to EVERYONE who has been keeping her in their thoughts and prayers. It means so much to me!

I had a photo session yesterday for Michael a fun little boy who kept me hopping. I’m hoping to have the pics edited tonight, so keep an eye out for them!

STOMP!!!!

Okay, so I know it’s not photo-related, but I just heard on the radio that Stomp will be back in Grand Forks in October! Woohooo!!!! We went to go see them last time they were here and absolutely loved it. I had to talk hubby into it, but I’m glad we did! We took Isaac with us – I think he was just about 2 years old. He even enjoyed it! So this time, we’ll take Isaac and Brandon. I can’t wait! Tickets go on sale next monday, and since I’ll be in Idaho, I’ll have to set my alarm to get up so I can buy the tickets online!

I’ve spent a bunch of time this afternoon looking at Stomp videos on YouTube, and am just excited. Hubby isn’t going to know what hit him when he gets home!

Vacation is coming!!!

Woohoo!!! I can’t wait. I’ll be leaving a week from tomorrow. We are going to drive from here to Boise, Idaho to see my family. Have I mentioned that we have two young boys? One who is almost 5 years and one who will be 2 in August? Yeah, this should be fun. *heavy sarcasm* It’s called driving as much as we can at night to (hopefully) get as many miles behind us before the boys get restless. Lots of movies, and new toys. *LOL* I’ll be able to check email while I’m on vacation, so I won’t be completely out of touch.

Speaking of my family, here’s an update on Grandma! The surgery to clean out the abscess went well. Things were kind of scary after the surgery, though. We think that she had a hard time getting the anesthetic out of her system and that she may have been allergic to one of the anti-nausea meds she was on. For nearly 36 hours straight, she was hallucinating, and her muscles were constantly twitching and her limbs were active. My mom and aunt say she was doing things like taking showers, swimming in marathons, and other activities. All of it hallucinations. But she finally got over that and since then she’s been getting better every day. She’s been out of bed and walking short distances every day. She is due to move into rehab either today or tomorrow. Yay Grandma!!!

To make my week even more “interesting”… my youngest son, Brandon, ended up in the hospital on Sunday. He came down with a cold on Friday evening or Saturday morning. It just kept getting progressively worse. Since he also has asthma, we ended up taking him into urgent care on Sunday. We thought it was just an asthma attack that we couldn’t get under control. Turns out he had pneumonia. Poor boy. We were finally discharged Monday evening around 8pm. Since then, he’s been getting breathing treatments every 3 hours. Including at night. Yeah…. guess who hasn’t had much sleep the last few days? But, he’s a whole lot better now and back into getting in trouble all the time. :-)

I think that’s about it for my updates. I don’t know if I can handle anything more right about now. *LOL* On Monday, I get to take pictures of Amanda’s family. Amanda’s son Michael is the same age as Brandon. Older by just a couple of hours. Amanda and her husband Aaron were the ones who posed for me last month for the contest. I’ve always had a good time with their family, and you can see several images of Michael in my galleries.

Everyone have an awesome weekend, and don’t forget that my July specials are ending soon!

Weddings

I’ve mentioned before that I am now offering Wedding Photography in my line up. I’ve spent most of this afternoon updating my website and I have some images in the gallery for your viewing pleasure. I have also updated the wedding price list to include the add ons I have available.

Here are a few of my favorite wedding photos. These are from Jessica and Darren’s wedding from last year. They are almost ready to celebrate their 1 year anniversary. It certainly doesn’t seem like it’s been that long!

I traveled all the way to Appleton, Wisconsin for their wedding. I had worked with Jessica and had taken her engagement portraits. I’m so glad she chose me to be a part of her wedding day. I still remember how much fun we had!
